Experience an Eclectic Musical Event with the Des Moines Symphony

Don’t miss a special masterwork performance hosted by the Des Moines Symphony at the Civic Center! This weekend a one-of-a-kind, Spanish-flavored concert is coming to town featuring the internationally acclaimed Siudy Flamenco Dance Theater.

Hypnotizing melodies and rhythms combined with folk inspiration and magic tales will sweep you up in the wonder of this special event. First, listen to the spirited and virtuosic Alborada del gracioso, an innovative original work from Maurice Ravel. Next, guitarist Jose Luis de la Paz joins the Symphony to play Rodrigo’s beautiful, passionate Concierto de Aranjuez. Finally, Falla’s flamenco-inspired masterpiece El amor brujo (Love, the Magician) comes to life with the exclusive Iowa premiere of the one-act ballet featuring Venezuelan dancer Siudy Garrido and members of her electrifying flamenco dance company.
